Wow, what a week. I took a day off from work on friday and went to California to be with my daughters and grandkids. It was one of my grand-daugther's birthday. (Number Two) We had a great time saturday at the birthday party, Bar-b-queing and swimming. And then, I spent the evening with my other daughter and son-in-law. We had a wonderful day together. We drove back home on Sunday. However, a five and one half hour trip home took us eight hours. We had just started home when there was a fatal accident on the freeway killing a CHP officer. (Hit and Run) It shut the freeway down for at least three hours. We finally found another way around the accident but it added another 2.5 hours on to our trip. We are so sorry for this needless loss of life. We were told later that the accident was caused by a drunk driver.

Oh Nancy that's so sad about the hit and run. Drink driving is a huge problem here in Ireland, that married with secondary roads and young boy racers just leads to unnecessary accidents almost everyday. On the bright side, your card is fabulous. I love his shiny red hat. Very clever. Glad you had a good time with your children. Looking forward to the day when I can visit my little man in his own home. :-D
ReplyDeleteHi Nancy I just love your card it is so so cute. The fireman's hat looks great with the Crystal Effects I use a product call Glass Coat does the same thing, might be the same product just a different name in NZ. So glad you had a lovely weekend with your family. Here you are talking about sunshine swimming and BBQ's and we are off for a few days next week skiing with the boys. Take care Kathie
ReplyDeleteGood morning Nancy! Good to hear you had a lovely time. Loving your card as always. The crystal effect is wonderful - I don't know if I have seen that before. It sure makes the fire hat pop! Beautiful!!

Oh Nancy, how sad for the accident on your way home. I'm a native Californian but I have to say people here are horrible drivers and it seems they think drinking and driving works! What a shame! I'm glad you were able to visit with your children and have a safe return! Maybe one day we can meet if you chance this way again or if I get out toward your way! I love this card but then I love all of your cards because you always had sweetness and all the special touches cards need. I love the paper and polka dot ribbon but wow - look at that shiny hat - great job making it stand out! Ooooh, I look forward to seeing your digital store - you know I'll be watching! :-) I really want you to know how much you've touched my heart while being on the team. Your kindness makes such a difference in my life - you're really a super wonderful woman and I admire you more than I can express in words! I have your email, so you'll hear from me and I'll always be stopping by here! :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Nancy! Your card is so sweet. I love that image, such a cute little guy! Your coloring is just fantastic, love the shiny hat! Glad you had a nice visit with family. Live can be so sad.
ReplyDeleteThe colors are awesome. The yellow ribbon really pops against the reds that you used. The image is really sweet and I love the glossy looke that you gave the hat. Your cards are always so cute. More on that accident, they were going to life flight him down to one of the bigger hospitals, but something must have happened because they only got him to St. Mary's. He was a friend to several guys I know who are also CHP. I'm so sad for their loss.
ReplyDeleteOh Nancy . I really love this cute image. The firefighter boy is just to cute for words. The the crystal effect on the hat. So sad about the hit and run accident. Im just so gald that you are okay. Thanks for all you do.
