SHIP AHOY!!! SWEET SKETCH WEDNESDAY62 AND PIXIE DUST STUDIO

Happy Wednesday Everyone!!!
I hope you are having a wonderful week.
Mine has been a little crazy. On saturday, one of our neighbors was walking his dogs and a Pitbull that lives right across the street from me, attacked one of the little dogs along with bitting the man. I wasn't sure if the little dog was going to survive but luckly after two days in the animal hospital she is back home. She has a torn broken leg and multiple wounds. We have so many children on our street that we are praying that the pitbull will not be allowed to come back home. This is the third time the pitbull has attacked another animal and human in our neighborhood.
Well, enough of that.....lets focus on some fun, happy stuff!!!!
Are you ready for another fun sketch? I have had so much fun with Arlana's sketch this week over at
SWEET SKETCH WEDNESDAY

And our DT have really created some dynamite cards for your enjoyment.

The image I have used for this week's challenge is from the Pixie Dust Studio. This sweet image is called: "Wink Pretends"

Our sponsor this week is: KATHIE from PIXIE DUST STUDIO
And, the prize for the winner of this weeks challenge is: "Two digi's of your choice."

So, hop on over and join us this week. We would love to see your creations!

Except for the image, I pretty well stuck with a monochromatic
aqua color scheme for my card to give it an ocean effect.
I used paper from American Craft Girl and Stampin Up.
The colors I used are from Copics Markers: BG10, YR14, E31, E33, YG11, E00 and B24.
I added Crystal Effects to the water and my little "O" ring for the Life Saver. And of course, the twine for the rope. Three Rhinestones. The ribbon is from some ribbon I got at the Expo a few months ago.

Thanks for visiting my blog.

Your comments are really appreciated!!

  1. Lovely card hun!
If that Pit Bull was here in the UK it would have been destroyed already! Why are people allowed to keep these dangerous dogs? Makes you wonder what goes on in some folks minds.
    Have a great day hun.
    Hugs,

  3. Nancy, how awful - you know I believe their is little tolerance now on pit bulls and I have a feeling they won't be bringing him home; plus your neighbor can sue them for damages - even get punitive damages. That's so ridiculous for people not to be aware of their surroundings and think about the safety of others. Your card is beautiful. I love the aqua colors - it really makes it seem the image is at sea. I love your little life saver but the way you colored the wood on the boat - it is a perfectly "wooden" - very clever! The cloud effect is very lovely; love how you make your cards have that full effect - really nice!

  5. Hi Nancy, thank you for your lovely comments. I'm so sorry to hear about your neighbour and his dog. In NZ the Pitt Bull would have been distroyed after the first bite.
I adore your card I love that image and the pretty Aqua papers and that Life Saver on rope look amazing. I love it. Have a wonderful weekend hopefully better than last week.

  6. Nancy - first of all the card is adorable! Perfect for a toddler!

Secondly, I'm surprised the Pit Bull was allowed home after the first attack. Wow!! Glad to hear the little girl (dog) is OK.

  7. Oh no that's rotten! I was pulled down by a dog when I was five and I had an insane fear of dogs for years after that. Only went away when we got a cat... cos that makes perfect sense. :-D Snap on the image again, we really have great taste don't we!!! Love the little life raft. Fantastic idea!

  9. I'm so sorry to hear about your neighbor's little doggie. Pit Bulls can be good dogs if they are raised correctly, this one obviously hasn't been.

Your card is so cute, and I especially love the little life saver and twine! Great colors too!

    Peace & Luv,
    Jeannie

  10. Awwww Nancy, your card is the sweetest!! Love your clever idea of the life preserve and twine. The perfect embellie for this adorable image.
Oh my, that is horrible to hear of your neighbor and their little dog!! I hope she bounces back quickly. I am surprised that they allowed the other dog to return after the first attach, and I pray the owners are held responsible for this attach. Such sad news!!

  13. Nancy, I just found out about the dog on Tuesday from Dad! What a neighborhood ordeal! I can't believe this is the third offense! I'm glad you are safe and I hope your neighbor and dog are doing well.
Your card is so cute! I just love the seafoam green on your card! You hit it on the nail with the color...perfect for the ocean affect! I love your lifesaver and twine. And you colored him so spectacularly! Makes me want to go sailing! Clever idea to use the Crystal Effect on the water! Love those sponged clouds in the sky too!
